Description: Duckdown records been official in the underground hip hop scene for about fifteen years and counting. The label displays raw hip hop talent, not watered down and made for the the mainstream radios stations like many artists in 2010. which in reality, those mainstream artist are only getting pimped by there record labesl. Not duckdown records. most of the artist on duckdown been doing there hip hop thing for years, but never crossed over to the mainstream but keep it in the streets for the people who love hip hop.  Major labels tend not to respect the realness, when artist critic thier own creative ablity such as duckdown records. Catch these mc’s spitting lyrics over hard, raunchy hip hop beats talking about reality rap.

Interpretation:As stated before, major labels dont respect the purity, or rather when hip hop was real. Mainstream artist struggle in this manner, rather doing it for the money they do it from the heart, money doesnt mean a thing to most independent artist. thats why the label, as well as the artist have an understanding that there in it for the love of the music not the money. For this reason, independent label’s expression of freedom of lyrics isnt dictated by the company, or the music industry.

engagement: Born and raised in Denver, there’s only one radio station that so-calls plays hip hop music. However, what KS 107.5 is considering rap for hip hop heads is really whack, and only made for major labels. After several times attempting to reach somebody from the radio station to play some real Hip Hop, rather then mainstream rap, i finally got through on the phone line. Me trying to express my passion to hear some real hip hop was like talking to anti-hip hop socialist or something.. The first question was, who is the label and are they mainstream artist..?? i say no! “Raw hip  hop-underground.. i sense they were not feeling my ideal to play some real music, they left me on hold for 35min i hung up. independent labels struggle because they express freedom. And if hip hop yhre music is self expression related and dedicated. QB international

mass media

To professor Becker

life in 2010 is already equivalent to the historic cartoon the Jetsons. Instant messages, fast pace access to just about anything under the sun and time spent wherever with whom ever you please just by using high tech search engines. times have gotten extremely fast. throughout my observation of this fast paced technology driven world, baby’s born within that time frame of 2015 will be computer baby’s. this observation means a child’s cognitive development will be computer-taught/computer based. with modern technology’s rapid exchange of micro processors the world is becoming computerized and controlled. through net-neutrality, corporations and government will have more access to personal security. with these advancements in technology, the world will be less safe, more controlled from societies perceptive…what the people don’t know wont hurt them! however, 2015 will be the evolution of life in the matrix- fast pace highway of culture crossing an control of the masses by information. I encourage everyone to pay more attention to the changes within mass media and see how it relates to your family, friends, and loves ones, because by the time 2015, technology will be so fast paced internet usage will be like entering another realm of reality.. so PEOPLE use the computers don’t let them use you.! And remember what its like to work from the heart, and learn by face to face inter-action without everything becoming mandatory to be instant.

Qb’s convo with his uncle Lee

Uncle Leroy Hinston

100th birthday party interview

My Uncle Lee..wow! amazing 2 see a man surrpass many obstacles and still sustain long jebority. when discussing life with my uncle Lee i asked him how was life without this fast pace media stuff as we know of now.. being born in 1910 things had to seem so far fetched from now days. this is what uncle Lee on his 100th birthday!!:)

Sound recording: the only sound back then was the sounds of old black folk tales in the South. being that my uncle can remember the great depression era, he says music use to keep the comminity together.  most music was soulful, ansd they made their own sounds out of sticks, and great grandmothers singing songs that were related to the freedom of slaves.

Radio: Radio in the early 1900’s was off limits for many blacks unless a family was blessed. My uncle Lee amazed me when he said, “Radio was  bigger then television when it first came out.” And was the reason many people started to gain knowledge about Americas society through radio. he said many people love Elvis, Sintara, Billy Dee Williams, and Marlon Monroe. however, uncle Lee said radio only dealt with certain things, such as information, and music came later.. but for the most part being black you really had to work hard to have a radio in the household.  non-whites had it pretty hard, he said with a deep-deep stare.

Television: when television came out it was like the most amazing thing ever! many people would stay home and watch black and white television all day after long, especially after long hours of working in factory’s. my uncle Lee says football was and alwayswill be the biggest sport in America. and Jim Brown was like the black peoples hero!:)

Movies: Movies back in the day had no extra stuff, says my uncle Lee! i guess hes referring o al the tremdous sound effects, and extra grahics. no sex sceens only kissing he tells me, and most movies that where worth watching in the 1900’s were westerns. not until black prople were able to act is when movies got intersteing or African Americans. Africans Americans such as Dorthy Dandridge, Shirly Temple, and Amos and Andy put a smile on thier faces during such aggressive times in America. My Uncle Lee seen alot, and while telling me the tales of the 1900’s it seemed to give him an emotional effect. After the interview the interview i asked uncle Lee does he like computors and he told me he doesnt mess with those things! lol gotta love the ol’School they paved the way for us today.

committed 2 success

only those who understand the reality behind motivation and determination can engage in this conversation. only those who understand success comes in many deminsions can really relate to a different pardigmn when success is spoke up on..is time in-reference 2 success..// if mother endures 9 months of labor comes out with a beautiful, healthy child that is success! materialism seems to define success at times…but through my ventures in life success seems 2 come within… being committed takes a great ordeal of displine, self-ordainment, and self motivation. committed 2 success comes within, with that commitment 2 better “self” becomes number 1 when achieving this reality
